My average? I have no idea what my average is. It depends on the agreed payment terms! I have a few very dear customers who pay the day after receiving my invoice, most of the others at 30 days, one or two at 60 days. I have been quite lucky (and I have developed a nose for bad payers) as in over 30 years I only had 3 clients who didn’t pay me at all (small sums), though I had like everyone else a few late payments. | | | Kevin Fulton United States Local time: 12:20 German to English
All of my current customers, agencies and direct clients alike, pay 30 days after receipt of invoice. I always send an invoice on the first of the month for services rendered the previous month, and they pay the last business day of that month or the first business day of the following month. I've managed to drop 60-day payers, slow payers and those who don't provide editable documents.

My appreciative literary clients pay me almost immediately; and almost never later than a week after I submit the finished product to them. | |

It is anywhere between 5 hours to a maximum of 30 days. And yes, this is the average time because both types of payers are about the same number of customersl. | | | | The Quickest Payment Ever | Aug 29, 2021 |
Actually, even though my literary clients do pay me rather quickly, I now remember that the fastest payment I ever did receive, from an agency in Ireland, came into my Paypal account within 2 hours after I submitted one of the many assignments I have done for it. And the assignment wasn't even a one- or two-pager. Heard no complaints later on. One of the few agencies I would ever consider working for again. | | | even quicker :D | Sep 5, 2021 |

Got a phone call from a new client. They asked the fee, I quoted it, and they had paid before I hung up the phone. I was that surprised. (e-transfer, they had my e-mail, and it was a small rush translation) | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Poll: What is the average time it takes you to get your payments as a freelancer?
