Follow the link http://www.onlinevolunteering.org/index.htm for online volunteering opportunities, in translation as well as other areas, organised by UN volunteers. By the way, when you're using the drop-down lists to search current assignments, you can leave fields blank if you don't want to specify for example, a target audience or a particular area of development.

Pro-Bono towards CV Dec 10, 2008

I endorse all the comments and info in this forum. I have been doing pro-bono work, mainly thru the UNV webpage, for two years as a means to start in the profession. It has given me the opportunity to build my CV, practice my skills, be active professionally, meet a wealth of people who have supported me, learnt an enourmous amount about new subject areas and test some my new CAT tool.
Plus, of course, you get your chance to do a bit for the world.
Get going!
Blanca.
