Thanks Elaine for successfully organizing Beijing Powwow. The topic of ID verification was mentioned in her recent letter. I browsed through the profiles of those on the name list and found most are not ID verified.
There is a specific ProZ FAQ topic on ID verification:
http://www.proz.com/faq/qa#qa_vid_how
Besides meeting a VIP in person, there are other ways to verify your ID. You do not have to wait for the next powwow - you can verify your ID anytime, anywhere:
1) Pay US $5 with a credit card bearing your name (the same as that in your profile).
2) Buy Platinum membership with a credit card OR Paypal, and submit a support ticket for ID verification if the name on the credit card/Paypal is the same as that in your profile.
I verified my ID by Paypal after renewing my membership this year. If you are not ready to go Platinum, you can pay US $5 with your credit card to verify your ID.
BTW, going Platinum is not a bad choice if you are serious on international business starting from ProZ. I guess most outsourcers may be more interested in working with those who clearly showed their serious intention in this market/community. ▲ Collapse | | | EllyLiu China Local time: 02:52 English to Chinese Thanks for the details, lbone | Oct 7, 2007 |
