Ms. Coutinho has a degree in Modern Languages and Literature – English/German from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisboa, having finished her academic studies at the University of Hamburg, within the framework of an Erasmus programme. She subsequently specialized in Translation of English/German and earned her Post-graduate diploma at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisboa. Throughout her studies she took Dutch language and culture at an academic level, which went on to become her third work language.
Dalila looks back at twenty-three years work experience, seventeen as a full-time freelance translator, with several assignments by translation agencies for the translation and proofreading of European Parliament sessions on multiple topics on the agenda and translation of Directorate General reports, EU Commission and Council draft decisions and recommendations; EuroNews channel scripts and a regular collaboration with agencies covering international and EU institutions, focusing, among others, on materials for the various DGs. Her solid experience as a translator was also gathered through an extensive contribution to several in-house publications and a regular collaboration with the national and international editorial markets.
Her mother tongue is Portuguese, although she is fully conversant in English, German and Dutch, which she uses in her daily work. She is fluent in Spanish and has good knowledge of French. |
