I'm just curious. I didn´t know this button had been discontinued. Why do you need it?

Well, maybe you could just put a comment on his answer stating your reasons why you find his answer unacceptable or why it is not suitable on your context.

Hi Alexander,
As the asker you "own" the question, you have the right to select which one you find the most helpful and to ignore whatever answer you find not helpful enough, or simply wrong. And if an answer is against the rules you can ask a moderator to look into it. Why would you need a button to decline a particular anwer?

Hi Enrique - perhaps you could explain why the "decline" feature was instituted in the first place and then why it was abandoned.

You are right Alexander, this option was available before. It was deleted in the release announced at http://www.proz.com/topic/45397 on April 20, 2006.

I agree with the "stupid answers".
But to my personal irritation I too often see the Asker chosing stupid answers and ignoring the valuable ones!

Sometimes it seems that the answerer does not know what he/she is answering, he/she does it only for the sake (or possible points?) of it...
I have one question now, which only has gotten one answer, and I don't agree with that answer. But I can not express that with giving 0 points or declining.
I keep getting "bugged" by kudoz to select answer, but I don't want to select this, I want to see if someone actually knows the answer...
So, if we can not decline an answer, can we please be able to give it 0 points?

You can't decline individual answers but you can close the question without grading. If you do so you will receive no further reminders to close the question.

Hi nbrataas - yes, you can close without grading, but if you found a better answer than what was given, please don't forget to provide that information for future glossary users. When searching the glossaries for a term, we often find "closed without grading - answer found elsewhere" but then the asker neglects to tell everybody what that answer was.
