verified membership Thread poster: DR Maryam Taghavi

Hi.
I was a verified member (with a grean check mark next to my name). Then I added a 'DR' next to my name because I passed my PhD viva about three months ago. Now the checkmark is disappeared although I changed the setting back.
I know I must have done something wrong. But could you please help me sort out this problem?

If you change the given name, middle name, or last name in your profile after your identity has already been verified, your identity verification will be revoked. To get re-verified, you will need to submit a support request.

I had a similar problem: my verification was deleted for inexplicable reasons. (I also changed my ID, but in response to the deletion, not before: since I had to re-verify my ID anyway, I took the opportunity to amend it.) Despite support tickets and contact with the original verifier, I was unable to get ID verification restored.
I discovered however that you can have your ID verified by a credit-card payment of $5, which I found to be the simplest solution:... See more Maryam,

I think, however, it is a bit disappointing to have to pay (even though the amount is small) if the name is still the same as before.

Seems lots of people are not identified, even long-standing paying members. Did we lose it when the site switched formats?

Don't think so - in fact, I can still see the check next to your user ID; your ID was verified back in 2003.
