Spanish term
un menú de lo más marinero
Spanish to English
Other
Tourism & Travel
This is in the write-up for a restaurant to be translated into British English. Context is:
Antes de ir, un consejo: ármate de paciencia. Y es que, al no admitir reservas y, a pesar de no ser barato, se trata de un lugar tan concurrido que la espera de mesa suele ir para largo. Un vez que la logres, te aguarda ** un menú de lo más marinero **, en el que puedes elegir entre langosta, ostras, mejillones, salmón, calamares, gambas, pez espada, vieiras...
I know what it means but am struggling to come up with something in English that works. TIA : ) All I have come up with so far (having discarded 'the fishiest menu !) is 'the best seafood menu around'.

For example, "swordfish" often is actually some other finny friend, while surimi and crabsticks are made of fish and made to taste like crab, although the crab content in the latter may be negligible or non-existent...

: rather too wordy, and does it really revolve?

"to revolve around" is not literal, it means the focus is on seafood, which is what the original means

Just an option.
I think your idea of "the best seafood menu around". Other options:
"one of the best seafood menus around"

the ultimate seafood menu
I actually hate the formulation "the ultimate..." as it is way over-used in marketing and advertising, but I think it might just do the trick here.

: I like it. It captures the sentiment here (more than "extensive").

: "Ultimate" refers to the best quality available, which is not explicitly implied here. "De lo más" = very, very typical, IMO.

Actually, it can refer to quality, extent, wow factor, degree of authenticity, almost anything you want; it's a very loose term

Billh
: de lo mas refers to the seafood rather than other nature. This is not the meaning in my view.

Not quite clear what you're getting at, Billh, but thanks anyway

: Ads are hyperbolic by nature. This works fine for me, and I don't really think it's too hackneyed either ;)

a (most) typical seafood menu
I think the basic aspect here is the expression "de lo más", which can be translated simply as "most typical", i.e. offering the customer the typical seasonal products.
