Estoy traduciendo un informe médico sobre una persona con trastorno obsesivo-compulsivo. En la descripción de síntomas dice:
"Afecto: poco expresivo, **discreta hipertimia hacia la tristeza**.
Hipertimia = hyperthymia; tristeza: sadness, unhappiness.
Hipertimia: estado de ánimo caracterizado por un aumento anormal del tono afectivo, generalmente acompañado de alegría excesiva o hiperactividad [ref. Diccionario de términos médicos de la Real Academia Nacional de Medicina]
No entiendo muy bien lo que dice el informe. ¿Que pasa de una discreta hipertimia a la tristeza?

And so on. This could be what they mean here. "Poco expresivo" is striking too; it's not normally associated with hyperthymia. I don't know how an English-speaking psychiatrist would express this, though it is possibly related to what this author is referring to by the term "subaffective hyperthymia":

The report is describing the range of the person's affect. You would add "from" moderate hyperthymia to sadness.
