Spanish term

...se cancelarán el o los titulos que la amparen reduciendo...

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Law (general) articles of incorporation
Mexican Spanish to U.S. English

"...se conviene desde ahora en que dicha adquisición sea nula y por lo tanto se cancelarán el o los títulos que la amparen reduciendo consecuentemente en la parte correspondiente, el capital social..."

...it is now agreed that such an acquisition is null and therefore the security or securities will be void (canceled) **que la amparen** reduciendo ...

I've seen this term as "harbored" or "protected" and I believe it may be referring to sheltered securities but am very uncertain. Thanks.

My problem here is that I can't relate your words to a meaningful factual situation. If I don't understand what is happening I leave off until I do understand it and from this context it remains extremely unclear to me. So I'm not prepared to answer until I can do so with some confidence.

more info Thanks Mike you have it right. it refers back to 'adquisición'. "La" adquisición'
Thanks.

Billh La is spanish for It si o no?
Billh Mar 12, 2013:
Can't answer this without more of the sentence. What, eg, does La refer to??
Kirk Garrett Smith (asker) Mar 12, 2013:
Thank you. I will heed your advice Phil and edit the question requirements.
Thank you Mike Yarnold.

I can offer the following for your consideration:-
It is hereby agreed that this acquisition will be void and will therefore cancel all title which it covers, consequently reducing the Share Capital of the corresponding Party

Kirk You'll get a better response if you don't ban non-paying members from answering - there are lots of them, and many are good, experienced translators.
You haven't said what is being acquired, but I think it means "underlying" or "of which it consists".
