Spanish term
como revés
Spanish to English

Government / Politics
La segunda guerra mundial había dejado desolada a Europa y, como revés, próspera a la Argentina.
I had translated this as "conversely," and the client explains: No está mal, pero como revés no es a la inversa, si no en consecuencia (medio tenístico el uso ;-), pero bueno, me servía…)
I don't think "consequently" is right, but I'm not sure how to translate this.

and conversely leaving Argentina prosperous as a result.
A possible option if stressing a consequential meaning is a must. However, like you, I think "conversely" alone seems good.

in return
Argentina's growth is somehow a result from Europe's crisis.
Example sentence:
Prices got higher in January, in return shopping decreased

: I don´t think it is correct to use 'in return' in this context. 'In return' means 'one thing is exchanged for another'.

Well, that's the issue, Lisa. May be I'm worng but from the text I take that idea: one situation is somehow the seed for the other
