La zona de las Islas, surcada de canales y puentecillos, acoge los árboles más singulares del jardín: pacanos, liquidámbares, ahuehuetes, traídos en semillas por lejanas expediciones de exploración científica: árboles americanos y asiáticos acompañados de ejemplares singulares de plátanos, como los Mellizos o el Plátano Padre. Al final, la Casita del Labrador esconde un tesoro de caprichosa decoración. Todo el jardín está habitado por multitud de ardillas, faisanes y pavos reales, acostumbrados a la proximidad de los paseantes.
