Talking about an artist and the mediums/techniques he uses:
Sigue trabajando en esta década de los noventa sobre soporte de papel de alto gramage (entre 300/400 gramos, metro cuadrado), bien sea alisado o de grano suave y, de momento, parece haber dejado aquel papel artesanal de altísimo gramaje (entre 600/1200 gramos), con superficie muy rugosa y grandes barbas del papel a la vista, que durante tanto tiempo atrajo particularmente su atención. Hoy enmarca a sangre sus trabajos.

También los materiales restantes son escueta y directamente simples: barra seca (bien sea negro, bistres o sanguinas) para sus dibujos y técnica de punta seca para sus grabados.

Excuse my ignorance but I am none the wiser with this answer. Does it just mean "put in frames"?

I imagine it to mean that when he frames his pictures he leaves an 'indentation' (or blank border) between the painting and the frame.
