I'd use ' following' rather than ' have', to indicate that course = 'rumo' rather than 'curso'

We are re-inventing geometry, aren't we? Or love is. Re-inventing navigation, at any rate. Please do not apply your principle while flying, sailing or driving. It could have unpleasant consequences. Maybe you want to consider changing your moto to: Since our paths met, and it appears that we like each other so much, let us travel at the same heading and speed forever (or a couple of years, whichever feels longer). Not as poetic, though.
