Portuguese term

estou a transpirar dos olhos

Portuguese to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature performance/art
From the following dialogue, a slightly surreal, dramatic performance.

Is the idea of 'transpirar dos olhos' as strange as 'sweating eyes' in English - or would it be better translated as 'my eyes are watering?'

X: E porque choras, menina?
Y: Não estou a chorar. **Estou a transpirar dos olhos**. Já viram muita coisa. Estão cansados.

Grata!
agree Paula Borges : yes, if you wanna keep the author's drama/intention. It isn't a common expression in Portuguese, and it wouldn't sound half as interesting without the idea that eyes can "sweat" from being tired.

my eyes are overwhelmed from all they have seen

my eyeball are sweating from all they have seen

agree Claudio Mazotti : I think "my eyeballs are sweating from all they have seen" sounds more poetic.
