Portuguese term

Pendências a cargo da El Paso

Portuguese to English Tech/Engineering Petroleum Eng/Sci Correspondence between branches of an oil company
This is the subject line of an email correspondence between what appear to be employees of the same oil company. There is no other context provided.

Do you think this refers to the matters pending that the El Paso branch is responsible for, or is it referring to those who are responsible for El Paso account?

matters pending

seems to be "matters pending for which El Paso is responsible", but is that construction better than, say, "pending matters of El Paso's responsibility". Pretty ugly, huh?

Pending items that El Paso is responsible for

I think "items" would be better here since this may in fact refer to expenses or the like rather than to "matters"
Peer comment(s):

agree Paul Kozelka : El Paso (espec. given the feminine def. article) is a large energy company
