Portuguese term
empresa madrinha
Portuguese to English
Bus/Financial
Business/Commerce (general)
My first hunch was parent company, but after a google search, I saw that that wasn't right. Is anyone familiar with this term?
All I have for context is that Business A is the empresa madrinha of Business B. (I get the impression that A is smaller than B, but I'm not certain).
Thanks for your help!

My Portuguese is a bit rusty but this would seem to make sense in the absence of any more info.
Cheers.
