Latin term

potestatemque universae artis medicae exercendae contulimus...

Latin to English Art/Literary Medical (general) doctorate/certificate
...in eiusque rei fidem hasce litteras universitatis sigillo sanciendas curavimus.

This is one sentence on a certificate conferring a doctorate. My school Latin is a bit rusty- I have figured out most of the rest of this document and would very much appreciate if someone could help me out!
Thanks !
