Japanese term

米馬

Japanese to English Bus/Financial Finance (general)
「米韓、加韓、米泰、米馬などの北米と主にアジア諸国との(関係)」

「韓」は勿論韓国で、「泰」ですが、「馬」は何でしょう。マニラが考えられますが、他が全部国なので確かめるためにお聞きします。宜しく。

Look here for a little more information http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malaya Also seen as 馬 来 (Ma-rai) with the meaning of 'Malaya'. This usage is very slightly dated, lucky for you that this old man is specifically interested in stuff like this. ;0)

Knew it was you before I looked. Thanks, mate. Old kanji readings / variants / ateji and WWII era related stuff (history, geography, world affairs etc.) are all a particular interest of mine.
