So che si dice medusa o jellyfish. L'ho però trovato scritto anche moon jelly. E' un modo poetico di dirlo? E' la parola americana? O è semplicemente un altro modo di tradurre medusa?

: where do you see it's the 'common' or 'moon' jellyfish? just "jellyfish" would be the safest option for Asker imho.

: agree with writeaway, medusa is just jellyfish; moon jelly isn't poetic, but seems tbe the common name for the Aurelia aurita

adult jelly fish/spawning jelly fish
I am not sure if we are talking about generalities or not here so..
in general jelly fish is just jelly fish.
Jelly fish reproduce (spawn) when they reach adulthood. So adult Jelly fish or spawning size jelly fish would eb appropriate if an age indicaor is needed
Moon Jelly fish is a specific a type of jelly fish I believe it is called moon jelly fish because it surfaces at night to feed
