Italian term

ex

Italian to English Law/Patents Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs death certificates
This is a little word that doesn't look very significant, but the proofreader is going to come after me if I don't translate it!

It appears in the heading of a death certificate:

UNITA' SANITARIA LOCALE ...
Sezione *ex* U.S.L. RM/16 -- Presidio Ospedaliero -- [City]

I see that it has been translated as "pursuant to" in a previous KudoZ question. What does this 'ex' mean here in this heading?

Grazie tanto.

agree SYLVY75 : yes, I believe Valeria is right. What was prevously called U.S.L. (Unità Sanitaria Locale) is now called A.S.L. (Azienda Sanitaria Locale), and some of the old ones don't exist anymore.
