Indonesian term

environmental effect especially "kalurning"

Indonesian to English Other Agriculture
This question is particularly intended for INDONESIAN colleagues. It is in an English text written by someone from Indonesia about ressistance of cocoa to certain diseases and I guess the term KALURNING is a Bahasa word or some other of the languages spoken in Indonesia. Please kindly refrain from guessing. Thanks in advance.
Proposed translations (English)
3 yellow streak cocoa pods

To reach the right people... I have changed the language to Indonesian for you — at least that way, your question will get sent to people who are probably more likely to know...

Hope this works for you!

Hi! May be if you post this question as English monolingual you´ll get at least an explanation of what the term means. Do you want me to change the language pair for you?

yellow streak cocoa pods

kalurning: kakao alur kuning = yellow streak cocoa pods

For agriculturalists in Indonesia, ‘kalurning’ is not a common name or acronym in Indonesian language for cocoa disease. I suspect that ‘kalurning’ is meant an acronym standing for ‘kakao alur kuning’ (‘yellow streak cocoa pods’) which is used in a limited agricultural society but not nationwide. Cocoa crops infected by ‘cocoa pod borers’ (Conopomorpha cramerella), indeed, show a symptom of ‘yellow streak cocoa pods’. The crop pests are widely known as ‘cocoa pod borers’ instead of ‘yellow streak cocoa pods’. The later term implies as if it is one of cocoa diseases but in fact, it is not.
