From a brochure advertising various hiking tours in the South Tyrol region of northern Italy. Puflatsch is Bullaccia, and I think the Italian name is more commonly used in English. But I can't make head or tail of "Puflatschstock", and maddeningly, there are no Google hits for this whatsoever (which there normally are for a geographical feature). TIA for any light you can shed on this horribly obscure word.

Puflatsch Range

"Stock" refers to "mountain range" akin to "Kirchbergstock", to cite another example http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirchbergstock. The definition of "massif", a "compact group of mountains, also fits the bill.

Yes, in my question I did say "Puflatsch is Bullaccia, and I think the Italian name is more commonly used in English". So I was aware of that part, but thanks anyway for the info. It was really the "Stock" part that confused me. Leo and Dict.cc, which are normally pretty good, didn't have the "massif" translation (so it's not quite in "any De-En dictionary"). However, the good old Collins did have that one, as it turned out. Print is by no means dead.
