German term

quer vernäht

German to English Medical Medical: Dentistry preprosthetic surgery
"Entfernung des Zungenbändchens
Das Zungenbändchen wird an der Zungenunterseite längs durchtrennt, der Defekt wird dann **quer vernäht.**"

I always seem to have a block about "quer" and I can't come up with anything I like for this. (I'm assuming "longitudinally incised" for "längs durchtrennt", but I'm open to suggestions if they help deal with the rest of it.)

Gabrielle Lyons (asker) Mar 3, 2008:
I was told to translate as "transversally sutured", which seems sensible. I know you suggested "transverse", but since it wasn't your main suggestion and I got it from a different source, it didn't seem right to give you the points. Sorry if that was mean of me.
Hallo Gabrielle, wie hast du "quer vernäht" denn übersetzt?
