German term
Eigenvermessung
German to English
Tech/Engineering
Engineering: Industrial
CNC machining
Context:
"Eigenvermessung der Werkzeuge"
The most promising reference I can find is to a "Lasersender mit Eigenvermessung" = "A self-surveying laser transmitter", but since this applies to unspecified tools used in connection with a machining center, I'm not sure how relevant this is. "Self-surveying tools" certainly doesn't seem promising, and "self-measuring tools" sounds more like "Eigenvermessende Werkzeuge" rather than "Eigenvermessung der Werkzeuge".

integral (tool) measurement
I think this could refer to the actual milling cutter or other such tool. An integral tool measurement system would monitor the wear on the tool. Such systems are commonly in use. It is just a question of whether the context is correct.

Discussion
Meine "Neigung zur Heimlichtuerei" liegt übrigens in erster Linie an den Hinweis bei jeder Fragestellung hier "make sure no sensitive or confidential information is included in this form", sowie natürlich an Geheimhaltungsvereinbarungen.
Ansonsten würde ich auf irgendwas wie self-adjusting/self-centering (im Tooling-Kontext sehr gerne genommen) verweisen.
