I'm working on a software manual for monitoring mail systems. It also uses the term einkonfigurieren.
The document does provide some help though, as the screenshots are already translated into English: auskonfigurieren has been translated as degraded or off-state, whereas einkonfigurieren has been translated as used.
However, the term "degrade" seem a little strange in the context of the documentation itself. Can anyone think of a more appropriate translation?

I think this means to set the configuration so that the unit in question is "out" or disconnected.

Sorry to state the obvious here, but is "configured" possibly not an option for both? Is it absolutely necessary inthe text to differentiate between the two terms? I'm afraid that theexisting tranlsation of the words doesn'nt sound great, I agree.
