German term
Mediakontakt
German to English
Marketing
Advertising / Public Relations
Context is a cultural institution giving examples of the great benefits achieved by its commercial sponsors. Specifically this is a case study of one of the sponsors and a list of benefits/activities it carries out, such as x number of gift bags it gives away, such and such kind of advertising campaign it puts on, etc. One of the points on the list is x number (in the millions) of *Mediakontakte* during a particular cultural event. Does this mean the number of times a journalist interacts with the company? That seems unlikely. So just the number of interactions the company has with potential customers? Can't get my head around it. The number is very specific, eg. 8.879.301

Exposure in media (media contact)
I think it refers to specific media exposure given to the sponsor; e.g. the number of times the sponsor company is promoted by exposure in the media.

I understand that companies make donations to "Context" and then they receive something in return; e.g. 2 million people watching the event on TV or finding information on the net about a cultural event and then the site displays the sponsor's logo, etc. Thus, mediakontakt and free advertising to the benefit of the sponsor??

ah - you've given me an idea. Could it be media mentions? |
