French term

en site propre

French to English Tech/Engineering Transport / Transportation / Shipping Railways and tramways
This relates to a tramway. I am wondering whether "en site propre" means a tramway separated from roads, i.e. within its own boundary. Is there a neater way of saying this?

Here is the paragraph:

Il [refers to an individual expert in the field] a également opéré des opérations de construction – équipement clé en mains sur des lignes de transports indépendantes comme le tramway en site propre de [name of French town]

I used "segregated corridor tramway" for "tramway en site propre". This seems to be an industry standard term https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proposals_for_new_tram_lines_i...

@bohy there seems to be some confusion : in the rail and therefore tram sector, they talk about dedicated right-of-way (with or without hyphens) which is not the same thing as right of way (i.e. priority) at intersections
Anne Bohy Apr 29, 2017:
@polyglot45 en site propre = with its own dedicated lanes
It's not about the right of way at intersections (which it has... or not, depending on the intersections), it mainly means that no other car can drive on these dedicated lanes (which are often covered with lawn wherever possible).

obviously here it can't be a bus lane en site propre means = with its own dedicated right of way
