French term

CBI

French to English Law/Patents Real Estate
This document summarizes the various benefits and limitations of new real property investment vehicles in France, including the SPPICAV (a variable capital property investment company). The above term came up, and I can't figure it out. Thanks in advance for the help - the sentence sample is below...

...les SPPICAV peuvent acquérir des immeubles sous le bénéfice de ce régime, mais non des CBI...

Discussion

rkillings Jun 29, 2007:
Be aware that a SPPICAV isn't the sole vehicle that fits every word of your description (variable capital property investment company). An SCPI may also have variable capital. The distribution obligations differ.

Crédit Bail Immobilier/Property Leasing Agreements

I am pretty sure CBI stands for Crédit Bail Immobilier here.

The question is how that is best put in this sentence in English. The usual translation - "Property Leasing" - wouldn't work by itself, so suggest the above, but this would depend a bit on the context.
Peer comment(s):

agree rkillings : I suggest "property finance leases". (Only difference between crédit bail and location financière is the type of institution extending credit.)

disagree Attorney DC Bar : Lease with option to purchase. A 'property leasing agreement' or 'lease' would just be 'bail', not 'credit-bail'
