French term

plancher lingual

French to English Medical Medical: Dentistry Mini implants system
Another query from my current job relating to mini implants for dental restoration.
7 mois plus tard, 4 Mini Implants sont posés pour stabiliser la prothèse inférieure. Le diamètre des implants est particulièrement adapté étant donné l’absence de plancher lingual consécutif aux pertes osseuses.

Not sure what this is, I can't find any internet hits, just pointers to plancher buccal, but this must be different because the text refers to the absence of PLANCHER LINGUAL as a result of bone loss..... It can't be the floor of the mouth though, can it?

Somewhat confusingly for English-speakers, the word "plancher" is sometimes used to designate both a floor and a ceiling (in construction, for example).

(That said, in an apartment block, your upstairs neighbour's floor is your ceiling, so it does in fact make perfect sense, as the concrete block in question is indeed both a floor AND a ceiling!.)

neutral Drmanu49 : I don't think so, that would be plancher buccal.

Not much else would make sense to me.
