First of all my apologies for the way I am asking this question. To me, this paragraph does not make sense (but I have been working very hard) and I cannot work it out. The words are clear but any help as to the meaning would be very gratefully received,

on all net revenue deriving from this work

The publisher has all rights, present and future, in all ways imaginable or not even imaginable yet, to profit from the work in all forms and derivations. The author has given all these rights for some agreed fee, defined elsewhere (and possibly increased by some part of the net revenue after complex calculation of what the publisher deems expenses. The right is given as exclusiveand complete to the intellectual property, to the exclusion of any other claims, except for some inalienable right of the creator to use certain aspects of the work and its intrinsic content: the concept of "intellectuel et moral". But not its form protected by intellectual property law.
Does that help a bit ? ?

correction: insert "income" for "revenue":
all net income deriving from this work

(thanks Sylvia for pointing that out)
Peer comment(s):

agree Sylvia Smith : yes, just 1 small comment: "income" rather than "revenues" (revenues are everything that come in, then items are deducted to arrive at net income - "net revenues", though used occassionally, is technically incorrect). // Cheers Michael :)
