the basic meaning of "fédératrice" (fédérateur) is unifying, or bringing together. Centralising may be an option as well, depending on how well it fits the context. But unifying, bringing together several elements, is the idea behind it.

Thanks. With relatively little to go on, I was more trying to explain the meaning behind it than to provide a plug-in translation. I thought of 'central' too, but deciding a console could be fédératrice without necessarily being 'central'
