French term

achat dev. compt annulé

French to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) Bank statement
This truncated description is on a corporate bank statement from Credit du Nord. the only context I have is I happen to know the company is in the horse breeding business, but I am not sure whether this description has anything to with the horse business per se. I am assuming that "COMPT ANNULE" is a truncated abbreviation for "compte annulé". And the "DEV."?

All I can figure out is the "cancellation of purchase of ____ account"
Any suggestions out there?

devises comptant! Makes perfect sense! Merci bien!
Timothy Rake (asker) Apr 2, 2011:
P.S. This entry is a debit to the account. There is subsequent entry several days later with this description; "ACHAT DEV. COMPT NUM OP XXXXXXX" - and that entry is a credit to the account.

devises. And I'm willing to bet the compt is not compte but comptant, ie cash. So purchase of foreign currency cash.
