David Hayes Feb 7, 2012:
Are we talking about your average high-street bank branch, or some sort of head office? My guess is it's the latter and the 'pôle médcin' is the company doctor's area/office. Maybe it is some sort of company first-aid room. I think a doctor is clearly involved here, and I sense that we are not talking about a big centre/department. But it's hard to tell based just on the information given.

Context What sort of building is this? Is it a hospital, a pharmaceutical company's offices, a nuclear power plant, a school ... ?

health centre

Avoids the necessity of specifying whether there is one or more doctors. It's hard to say without more context whether it could even be the kind of place staffed just by nurses.

Thanks Alistair
neutral B D Finch : That's usually "centre de santé" in French.// We really do need some context.

Yes, but I am assuming this is inside another building/organisation?

The lack of an "e" on the end of "médecin" does imply that it means doctor, rather than medical.

Given the earlier absence of context, I had guessed that this was either in a hospital or the medical (products) department of a company. Now that the context of a bank has been given, medical centre seems more appropriate.

Medical centre

Pole is increasingly used in this part of France, at least, to imply a re-groupment of various services which are interconnected. There are "Pôle Industrielle" or if you are out of work the "Pôle Emploi". The latter being a combination of the job centre and the department Assedic who deal with your rights to any money or financial assistance.
