U.S. would use oilseed rape
The term “canola” is a registered trademark of the Canadian Canola Association and refers to cultivars of oilseed rape that produce seed oils with less than 2% erucic acid (22:1) and meals with less than 30 mmol of aliphatic glucosinolates per gram.

Canola Canola refers to a cultivar of either Rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) or field mustard (Brassica campestris L. or Brassica Rapa var.). Its seeds are used to produce edible oil suitable for consumption by humans and livestock. The oil is also suitable for use as biodiesel.

Rypsi ja rapsi

rypsiöljy takaa välttämättömien rasvahappojen, linoli- ja alfalinoleenihapon, saannin
tärkein margariinin raaka-aine ja eniten käytetty ruokaöljy sekä koti- että suurtalouksissa
noin 75 % käytetyistä ruokaöljystä on rypsiöljyä
siemenissä öljyä on 30-40 %
rypsi- ja rapsiöljyllä on sama rasvahappokoostumus; Suomessa puhutaan yleisesti vain rypsiöljystä
Rypsi on ristikukkainen laji, joka on
nauriiden, kaalien, sinapin ja monien rikkakasvien sukulainen.

Rypsin hedelmät ovat nimeltään lituja.
Niiden sisässä kehittyvät pienet, öljypitoiset siemenet.

Suomessa viljeltävä rypsi on kevätrypsiä.
Suomessa rypsiä on perinteisesti viljelty laajemmin kuin rapsia, sillä rypsiä voi kasvattaa suuressa osassa maata. Rapsin viljely rajoittuu aivan eteläisimpään Suomeen, koska kypsyäkseen ja tuleentuakseen se vaatii pitkän kasvukauden. Kun kasvukausi on riittävän pitkä ja lämmin, rapsi on satoisampi ja öljypitoisempi kuin rypsi.

Kukinnan aikaan rypsin ja rapsin erottaa parhaiten siitä, että rapsi avaa ensin kukintonsa alimmat kukat, rypsi ylimmät. Rapsilla on myös tanakampi varsi kuin rypsillä.

That's why I suggested googling only the US sites; I tried some of the terms and the quackgrass seemed to bring credible hits with some herbicide manufacturers in the US.

Thanks. In the UK, couch grass or common couch is used... but there are a multitude of names and I am trying to find the most common in the US. It is the Brassica Rapa that gives the problem again on deciding which alternatve to use...

Not sure of your context, but googling with the combination of the various grasses, e.g. "couch grass" + herbicide + site:US, would seem to indicate that at least some herbicide manufacturers use "quackgrass" for juolavehnä (Agropyron repens).

It also seems that rypsi (Brassica rapa) could also be called turnip rape and
rapsi (Brassica napus) rapeseed or oilseed rape, or even canola, again looking at the US sites.
Hope this helps a bit to the right direction!
