That makes more sense! I've got a degree in Zoology, and the question puzzled me.
Non-ProZ.com Jun 7, 2004:
Thanks! I was wondering how I could let you all know.
In the end the author herself cleared it up, she has been trying to say "saliente" in Spanish, in other words prominent. Where she got watered from, I just don't know!!!
Thanks for all your help and advice.

If you've found the answer, why not post it (as a note) for our edification?

wavy; with a wavelike pattern

Watered can mean wavy or having a wave-like pattern. This meaning is usually used in relation to silk fabric, but would seem to make sense here. The anterolateral angles are wavy or have a wavelike pattern, but are rounded in the vertex.

I don't like to give 100% confidence unless I'm very sure indeed, but thanks Nizamettin.
agree DGK T-I : my guess: wavy, wavelike pattern or lustrous (eg: http://www.flyanglersonline.com/flytying/tyingterms/fft-s.ht...
