driving license

English Other Automotive / Cars & Trucks CV - Great Britain
On a CV if someone has a column 'Driving license', is it OK to write full, clean. And that is? Because on Polish CV they often write the (vehicle)category that one can drive. But I do not think that is the case on a British/US CV?

full, clean driving licence

implies that the person has a full (i.e. not provisional/learners) driving licence without any penalty points (clean) to drive cars. It is a perfectly normal British expression.

If the CV were for a HGV driver, then the HGV class would be quoted. But in this case, it sounds like a non-driving job.

clean driver's licence, class xxx

Actually, Google gets about 250 hits for a full clean driver's licence (note driver's licence, not driving licence, although that may change from jurisdiction to jurisdiction). Where I live, a clean licence means no moving violations, and licences are ranked class 1 through 5.

don't say full/clean: give a category

I cannot speak for other countries, but in the US, there is no such thing as a "full" driver's license. There are different types, such as:
Driver's permit/learner's permit; For people under the age of 16 to learn how to drive with another licensed driver in the car with them

Type "A"(normal passenger car)
Commercial driver's license (I'm not sure of the code, but it's to drive big trucks, like the ones which have 18 wheels)
Motorcycle/moped driver's license

I think these are the main types. But I have never heard of a "full" driver's license.

\"Clean\" would apply to the person\'s driving record, not the license itself. Such as, whether he/she had accidents, parking tickets, moving violations, or other problems in his/her driving history.

Thanks!
agree jccantrell : In the USA, unless the guy is applying for a job as a truck driver or chauffer, this question does not even come up. If the position involves driving, you would have to provide a printout from the authorities regarding 'cleanliness.'

clean driving licence

Yes, it's normal to use (full) clean driving licence in the UK. It's just to say that the person has no recorded violations and that there are no restrictions. Unless the job is for driving a Heavy Goods Vehicle for example, it's not necessary to give any other information.
