As a scientist, I believe that it is entirely reasonable to hold that the world was made of the order of 6,000 years ago in six 24–hour days. But the basis for my belief is unashamedly Scripture first. As I have sought to explain in the previous chapter, this is not ***undermining*** science. It is simply recognising that true science has limitations.

Huxley was premature a hundred years ago when he stated: "Notwithstanding diligent search, I have been unable to discover that the universality of the Deluge has any defender left, at least among those who have so far mastered the rudiments of natural knowledge as to be able to appreciate the weight of evidence against it". The ‘weight of evidence’ that Huxley sincerely thought was there, far from ***undermining*** Scripture, has in fact confirmed it. This is particularly true of archaeological finds in Palestine and the Middle East.
