New religions in China
The most significant Chinese New Religious Movement of the last fifty years are the qigong groups, which borrow doctrine from earlier sectarian groups and combine it with populist teaching and health culture. The word itself, which can be literally translated as breath-work or ***energy-skill***, was coined in the twentieth century, but qigong's "self-cultivation" techniques have been a part of Chinese culture since records began.

dominio de la energía
Aunque "dominio" no es una traducción literal de skill, me parece que en el contexto funciona mejor que "destreza" y describe mejor la filosofía qijong.ya que "skill" en este caso se aplica más a un dominio, un control, sobre la energía
