English term

16ft pitch

English to Spanish Other Music comments about a music student interpretation
The example chosen is a four-part fugue, fulfilling the requirements for this component. The organ used in the example is indicative of a keyboard instrument on which this fugue may have been performed, though it is not necessary for the performance to be on a baroque-style instrument, (as in a performance of this piece on the piano). The organ has appropriate “registration”, though the use of a ***16ft pitch*** occasionally obscures the texture. More thought therefore needs to have been given to the instrument selected.

tono de 16 pies

¡Hola!

Registro 16' (pies)

The pitch produced by an organ pipe is a function of its length. Octave pitch lengths used in actual organs include 64', 32', 16', 8', 4', 2', 1', and 1/2'.
I play the organ and piano, and there are different registration buttons to play music in different pitches (higher and lower sounds).

In Spanish I would say "Registro" better than "Tono". I hope I helped you.
