To je automobil koji se kupuje u delovima, pa se naknadno sklapa. To sklapanje možete da izvršite sami ili da angažujete neku firmu da to uradi. Često su ovakvi modeli značajno jeftiniji od standardnih modela, zbog toga u vašem tekstu piše da "ako ne možete da priuštite vintage automobile, onda je kit car rešenje za vas..."
Možda bi ovakav automobil mogao da se nazove "napravi sam" automobil.
