Wildlife Trafficking/Poaching
I know there are entries in the glossary, but I am still confused as to what to use in these contexts. It is a presentation from a law firm that specializes in prosecuting people/corporations involved in wildlife trafficking. I would appreciate answers from people who understand the term and can explain it well to me so that I can make an informed choice as to the right term. I have looked up the meaning in the dictionary (Melo/Marcílio), thus an answer that is just a copy/paste of that is not going to be helpful. It sounds to me to mean something like "perda de direito sobre um objeto/propriedade/etc.", but a better explanation with the equivalente term in Portuguese would be priceless!

"Forfeiture, the government seizure of property connected to illegal activity, has been a major weapon in the Federal government's "war on drugs" since the mid-eighties."
