Stratification breaks a dormancy found in seeds from the temperate regions where winters are cold. The process evolved to protect them from germinating at the wrong season. Stratification is recommended if you have dried seeds for angelica, sweet cicely, sweet woodruff and violets – all of which
***self-set*** easily from the parent plant.
