चर्चा यह थी कि flame-out से तात्पर्य लौ लगने से है या बुझने से। आशीष जी ने जो सीमित सन्दर्भ दिया था उसमें मुझे ललित जी का सुझाव सही लगा कि बात आग लगने की है, बुझने की नहीं। चर्चा में यह भी कहा गया था कि अंग्रेज़ी पाठ शायद मूल स्पेनिश के गूगल अनुवाद का संशोधित रूप है।

मेरी टिप्पणी (समयाभाव में अति संक्षिप्त) इस बात को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए लिखी गई थी। यदि लेखक का आशय लौ लगने से है तो मूल पाठ ग़लत है – flame-out की जगह flare up या flare out होना चाहिए।
(सामान्यत: flare up कहा जाता है पर flare out भी सही है। इन वाक्यांशों के दूसरे अर्थ भी हैं पर आग लगने/बुझने के प्रसंग में ग़लतफ़हमी की गुंजाइश नहीं है।)

'रशियन मीडिया' से उद्धृत आलेख के पहले वाक्य में ओलम्पिक मशाल के बुझने का ज़िक्र है। बात लौ बुझने की है इसलिए flameout सही है। (http://www.rferl.org/content/russia-olympic-torch-kremlin-ou...

(इस प्रसंग में यह कहना उचित होगा कि रेडियो फ़्री यूरोप रूसी संस्था नहीं है। इसकी स्थापना दूसरे विश्व युद्ध के बाद साम्यवाद के विरुद्ध प्रचार करने के लिए की गई थी। यह अमेरिकी पैसे से चलता है। लंबे समय तक इसका ऑफ़िस जर्मनी में था, आजकल प्राग में है।)

एक और बात -- आपसे अनुरोध है कि आपको मेरी बात ग़लत लगे तो उसका तर्क से जमकर विरोध कीजिए। कृपया व्यंग्य न करें।

बाला जी आपके द्वारा उपलब्ध कराए गए वाक्यों को पढ़ा। "Burn concentrated liquids in systems compatible with water soluble wastes." के बाद Avoid flameouts. का प्रकट होना - लग रहा है कि आपकी बात सही है।

flameout का प्रयोग यहाँ सही हुआ है मेरे विचार से flameout का प्रयोग आग बुझने के अर्थ में, यानी literal अर्थ में, यानी flame के out हो जाने (बुझ जाने) के अर्थ में हुआ है। और संदर्भ कचरे को जलाकर नष्ट करने से है। यदि कचरे को जलाते समय (भस्मक - incinerator में) बीच में ही आग बुझ जाए, तो कचरा ठीक से नष्ट नहीं होगा और जहरीली गैसें आदि उत्सर्जित होंगी। इससे बचने के लिए flameout नहीं होने देना चाहिए।

With calls for boycotts and audits and other reminders of the sordid side of life under Vladimir Putin already drowning out some of the hype for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, the last thing the Kremlin needs is a real or metaphorical flameout. ओझा जी, रशियन मी़डिया के इस वाक्य में भी शायद लेखक ने गलती से flare out की जगह flameout का प्रयोग किया है। इस तरह की गलती पूरे अंग्रेजी साहित्य मे भरी पड़ी है। शायद आप सही हैं और सभी अंग्रेज हर जगह गलत हैं।

सम्भवत: मूल पाठ में 'flame out' की जगह 'flare out' होना चाहिए। 'गूगल बाबा' ऐसे कमाल करने में माहिर हैं।

ललित जी से मै सहमत हूँ। देखिए इस वाक्य मे अंग्रेजों ने विकिपिडिया मे शायद ही कहीं flameout का प्रयोग किया है:-- Flameouts occur most frequently when the engine is at an intermediate or low power setting (such as during the cruise and descent phases of flight). Most of the time, they are recovered from uneventfully. To recover from a flameout, the pilot should ensure the engine's fuel supply has been restored and then simply perform an engine restart as detailed in the aircraft's Flight Operations Manual.[3]
Early jet engines, such as Junkers Jumo 004 used in early German jets, including the Messerschmitt Me 262, were at relatively high risk of flameout. Fast acceleration or inappropriate throttle settings could impoverish the fuel/air mixture causing a flameout. If this happened at low altitude, it would often lead to the total loss of the aircraft. However, modern jets are engineered to a higher degree of technical quality and are controlled by systems (FADEC) that constantly fine-tune their performance; as such flameouts are not as common as they were in the early days of jet-powered aviation.

दरअसल मुझे लगता है कुछेक अनुवादक गूगल ट्रांसलेट का प्रयोग करते हैं और प्राप्त सामग्री को अपनी समझ से ठीकठाक कर लेते हैं। पिछले दिनों ऐसा ही एक मैनुअल मुझे मिला था, जो किसी और भाषा से अंग्रेज़ी में किया गया था। साफ नजर आ रहा था कि गूगल बाबा की मदद ली गई है।
हो सकता है मूल दस्तावेज़ किसी और भाषा में रहा हो और उसे अंग्रेज़ी में अनूदित किया गया हो। यह मात्र एक आशंका है। हो सकता है ऐसा न भी हो, परंतु मुश्किल है कि flame out का इस रूप में प्रयोग कोई अंग्रेजीभाषी करे।

आशीष आपका कहना सही है यहां मामला flame out की सामान्य प्रचलित परिभाषा से अलग लगता है। पूरा संदर्भ ध्यान से पढ़ने के बाद समझ में आ रहा है कि कहने का अर्थ है - आगजनी से बचें / लौ धधकने से बचें / आग बाहर फैले इससे बचें

संदर्भ यह है कि Ethyl tert-butyl ether (ETBE) और Methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) से संदूषित पदार्थ में आग लग सकती है, जिस कारण यह ख़तरनाक बन जाते हैं। मूलतः यहाँ भण्डारण व प्रयोग आदि से जुडे जोखिम व सावधानियों की बात हो रही है। क्लाइंट से पूछा है यदि flame out की सामान्य परिभाषा से अलग कोई अन्य आशय है...

From your context it looks like a process of Producing Biomass through burning or something, So my Answer was based on that.

Moreover there are some discrepancies about your first sentence, Water doesnt have any flash point, It cant be burnt whereas soil have significantly Higher flash point.

Here the context is of storage of brewers. So the asker has asked in terms of brewing and storage. It refers to stoppage of boiler, either accidentally or manually.
