qui correspondent plus ou moins à l'ordre dans lequel les brevets sont délivrés. Par contre, selon le site du bureau des brevets américain, les nombres ne se suivent pas toujours, certains nombres peuvent ne pas avoir été attribués. L'année de délivrance n'a pas à être indiquée. Par contre, dans certains cas, le numéro de brevet est précédé de lettres (D, PP, RE, H) et ces lettres sont importantes.

Those are the numbers of patents issued in two different periods. Therefore the space in French amount.
The patent numbers in USA are as “20010000044”. See the link below.

They shows how many patents have been issued in two different periods (i.e., 2001 – 6,509,453 and 2002 – 5,856,452). Somewhere in the document there should be a reference to two years.
The patent number is formed by the year in which it had been issued and a consecutive number. In the example “20010000044”, the year is 2001 and the patent is the 44. This last number can be as big as 9999999.
If those were the numbers of two patents, they would have been 20016509453 and 20025856452.
