"Sustav Somatom Definition sada je instaliran širom svijeta
i pregledano je 15,000 pacijenata. Klinički potencijal sustava
dodatno je pojačan najavom 510 k odobrenja US – FDA
za six-dual energy. Ovo utire put rutinskoj primjeni tehnologije
– tvrdi kompanija Siemens. Generiranje podataka iz
izvora dvojne energije omogućavat će izravnu subtrakciju
– oduzimanje kosti u kompliciranim anatomskim regijama,
omogućit virtualnu nepojačanu jetrenu sliku, otkriti perfuzijski
defekt pluća, vizualizirati hrskavicu, ligamente i tetive,

We report the evaluation of a prototype dual-energy implementation using rapid kVp switching on a clinical computed tomographic scanner. The method employs prereconstruction basis material decomposition of the dual-energy projection data. Each dual-energy scan can be processed into conventional single-kVp images, basis material density images, and monoenergetic images. Phantom studies were carried out to qualitatively and quantitatively evaluate and validate the approach.
