Regulations for car racing
I think I know what they mean, I just don't know how to word the term correctly.
Any help is, as always, greatly appreciated.

"ere" is explained in your sample text - just some specially designated place where they have to stop and wait out the time penalty. Difficult to make a distinction if they're talking about time penalties elsewhere in the text. Perhaps "special time/stop-go penalty" and then explain what it is?

There are some racing hits for Barend's "success penalty" so perhaps combine that with stop-go penalty to explain what it is? Not keen on penalty box (smacks too much of football) - specially designated /penalty/ area?

Note from asker:
Thank you very much for your help, Moira. However, these penalties are already used and do not seem to refer to "erestraf" It is the "ere" that throws me off in all these terms. |

: You can't really translate "ere" - it just means "for being so good". Another possibility is handicap.

thanks, Phil - "time-handicap penalty" gets some hits, though it seems to be mainly used in sailing.

downgrading penalty
Stop-go penalty, as an official glossary term, does indeed square.
Ehrenstrafe is DE is a (military) 'degrading punishment'. So here's a Formula 1 contrivance.

In ieder hartelijk bedankt, Barend. Ik stel je hulp erg op prijs!
Nog een hele fijne avond.
Peter
het enige wat je zegt: I think I know what they mean
bijv.

Also of note in Super GT is that Villois Racing #11 have 15 seconds of 'success penalty' to be taken during the pitstop in Race 1, with Manthey Racing #8 and AF Corse #4 each having to take a 10-second penalty, and Scuderia Villorba #2 and V8 Racing #17 each having 5 seconds to serve.
