Discussion

Arsen Nazarian Apr 9, 2005:
Fine that you could make your answer by combining the responses given and other sources such as Black's Law dictionary (which I also use quite often).
Thank's for the feedback and good luck.
Fred ten Berge Apr 9, 2005:

conditional, ancillary measure of appeal

or ancillary measure of cassation
Peer comment(s):

neutral Fred ten Berge : Several synonyms to 'ancillary' (secondary, subordinate) indicate that an 'incidenteel' cassatiemiddel might be of minor importance!

Tha asker has finally decided that "ancillary" fits best in this case !

Comment: "Thanks for your promptness in responding, but I'm declining your answer. Van de End's lexicon provides much information, but reading Black's Law Dictionary (which I really didn't have time to do) often helps tremendously, as it did in this case (voorwaardelijk was preliminary, incidenteel was ancillary, and I used both cause of action for middel as well as argument. Thanks."

Just for the record.
[Or more honestly: mainly in favour of my learning!]
Beste mogelijkheid via internet?

Fred

Comment: "Thanks, I have that Van den End lexicon. After reading Black's Law Dic., I decided 'voorwaardelijk' was 'preliminary' (that the case would be refered to another court). The 'ancillary' part I had also come up with. I used 'cause of action' for middel as well as 'argument.' Anyway, I do appreciate your jumping into the fray although I was unable to make use of your answer."
