Dutch term

aanmeldband

Dutch to English Tech/Engineering IT (Information Technology)
List of translations for a Belgian app, no context except 'Hoogte aanmeldband Gebruikers', users of the app presumably. French translation is 'Hauteur barre Utilisateurs', does it just mean the height of some interface on the app screen?
Proposed translations (English)
4 +1 login bar

Discussion

Michael Beijer May 26, 2014:
@Richard: well, good luck!

Lucky I only have around 1000 words left and I can call it a day (today).
Richard Purdom (asker) May 26, 2014:
goeie vraag... 25000 woorden, en nog niet duidelijk, maar misschien stock control of zoiets
freekfluweel May 26, 2014:
Wat doet die app ?
Michael Beijer May 26, 2014:
@Richard: the users are definitely logging or signing in. I doubt they are subscribing/unsubscribing, or registering/deregistering
Richard Purdom (asker) May 26, 2014:
Hier is een beetje context...'Automatisch eerste Werktijd starten op basis van Aanmeldtijd' 'Elke gebruiker kan aanmelden', en 'afmelden' komt er ook voor
Michael Beijer May 26, 2014:
hmm I think that, since it is an app, it's probably login (rather than say register/registration or subscribe/subscription). However, yeah, any more context would be great.

See also aanmeld/aanmelden etc in the Microsoft Terminology Collection: http://www.microsoft.com/Language/en-US/Search.aspx

or search for ‘aanmeld...’ in e.g. GWIT

most of these refer to logging in / log in /login
freekfluweel May 26, 2014:
application/entry/participation/play/registation hoeft niet per se "login" te zijn. Dan had er waarschijnlijk "loginbalk" gestaan...

->meer context!
Michael Beijer May 26, 2014:

freekfluweel May 26, 2014:
aanmeldbaLK moet het volgens mij zijn:

"Wilt u meedoen, klik op de aanmeldbalk."

Michael Beijer May 26, 2014:
indeed, some sort of UI element I imagine that it is sth like:

‘height of the Users login bar’

‘Band’ sounds funny to my NL Dutch ears, but it’s Belgian.

indeed, some sort of UI element

I imagine that it is sth like:

Hoogte aanmeldband Gebruikers =

you might also want to customise this to suit your own preferences re: whether to use sign in, sign-in, login, log in, log-in, log on, logon, etc …

‘aanmeldband’ is probably a mistake.
most likely the author meant to type ‘aanmeldbalk’
