Medical: Health Care
Operating theatre staff
At the end of a description of an operation: (the technical details, recommendation for post-op. care and medication etc.)
Lægeassistent (Name) Sygeplejerskeassistent (Name) (Name of surgeon).
I wondered if I could just write 'Surgeon's assistant' ?
I can see that a 'lægeassistent' in various situations has a fair amount of medical training depending on what the person does, some more than others, but from the somewhat sparse context here I suspect this one would be some kind of surgeon, possibly highly qualified, but not quite the senior specialist in charge of the operation.
Thanks again! I hope this is the last question....
Most of this 20-page job is in normal language written by 'ordinary mortals' ! But the medical journals, although more or less decipherable, are a challenge to translate!

Comment: "Thanks! I chose this one because in this case I am fairly certain that the person is a fully qualified surgeon who just happens to be in second position on this occasion. (He appears in other situations too in the texts.)
Lægeassistent is definitely also a paramedic - eg in ambulance crews and many other situations, so that definitely goes into the glossary too.
Thanks everyone!"
