maintenance tolerance
At https://www.nist.gov/system/files/documents/pml/wmd/pubs/201... I found 'G-T.2. Maintenance Tolerances. – Maintenance tolerances shall apply to equipment in actual use, except as
provided in G-T.1. Acceptance Tolerances'. This is an American document and the term does not seem to have the same meaning in the UK.
I'm not specialised in technical matters, but hopefully this helps a bit.

actual-process tolerance (number)
You may have heard that a particular precision measuring tool has a certain tolerance number. --- Tolerance can be defined as the total *allowable* amount by which a measurement may vary.
For a process instrument, it is good practice to have the calibration tolerance a bit tighter than the actual process requirement.
